County Road 681 access.

This road crossing/bridge access site can be the take-out for trips starting 4.5 miles upstream at 54th Street or 7 miles upstream at Lawrence. It can also be the put-in for trips 2 miles downstream to 59 1/2 Street and another 5 miles downstream to Hartford/CR 687. Although CR 681 is a busy road, there is room to pull completely off the pavement and park on the shoulder. Best access to the river seems to be on the SW corner of the bridge. Please be respectful of the property owners and do not trespass.

Once pathway clearing for the season is completed, the river upstream from CR 681 all the way to Lawrence is considered an Intermediate segment at normal water levels but there may be exposed logs at extreme summer low water. The river downstream to 59 1/2 Street is considered intermediate after pathway clearing is completed for the season. 

To find the CR 681 access, you can take I-94 to either Lawrence (exit 52) or Hartford (exit 46). Take Red Arrow Highway west from Lawrence or east from Hartford and then turn north on CR 681 at the blinking light.
