67 1/2 Street bridge access
This bridge crossing access (also known as Pinery Road by locals) is the take-out point for the trip starting 3 miles upstream at CR 687 in Hartford. It is the put-in site for the 3.5 mile trip downstream to County Line Road (70th Street), and the 5.5 mile trip downstream to Paw Paw River Campground on M-140. Once the pathway clearing is done for the season, the stretch upstream and downstream are beginner friendly at normal water levels. Some maneuvering back and forth across the river is required to follow the paddle pathway. There may be some exposed logs at summer low water levels.
To find this access, take Red Arrow Highway to the west side of Hartford and then turn north on 65th Street. Follow this road as it turns west and north until you come to the bridge over the river. Park on the side of the road south of the bridge. The access is on the southwest side of the bridge and there are concrete slabs that work as steps down to the water. If floating down the river, the access is on River Left immediately after the bridge.
On Road Shoulder parking is available.
Carry-In boat access.
Length of access is less than 50 yards.
Bank is short but steep and there are concrete slabs which work as steps alongside bridge abutment.
A nearby local outfitter provides just rentals including transport of boat.
