Designed by famed architech Albert Kahn, this is the only all marble, art deco lighthouse in the world. Built to honor William Livingstone, president of the Great Lakes Shipping Association, and the developer of modern shipping on the Great Lakes.

The south bound Livingstone Channel farther downriver is also named for him.
