Can you believe that a slice of serene northern Michigan can be found in the thumb of Michigan, only 60 miles north of Detroit, 9 miles west of Port Huron and the Blue Water Bridge? Imagine fishing for your dinner, sitting around a mesmerizing campfire, roasting marshmallows (s'mores are so good!) and hotdogs, going for long, leisurely walks through 66 acres of woods and trails.
Ruby Campground is in a natural setting amid acres of woods. It is situated in a large valley with mature trees on Mill Creek. Sites are rustic to full hook-up, shade to full sun. All sites include a picnic table and a fire ring. There are sites available on Mill Creek, as well as rental cabins. Fishing is allowed in the stocked pond (catch and release) as well as in Mill Creek (catch and keep!). There is a large raft in the pond for relaxing or swimming, and there are five miles of well marked, challenging mountain bike/scenic walking trails.
Ruby Campground has a camp store: firewood, bait, ice, and pop available; a game room; a service building with showers and flush toilets; a dump station; a portable dump unit; and insect control. Ruby Campground is open from May 15 to October 15.
